In the Queue

Well, I successfully got my husband hooked to Grey's Anatomy and we are finally on the 7th season.. so almost caught up! Early last week I watched No Strings Attached with Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher
While I love both of the actors, the storyline was lacking. It was sooooo predictable and there were a lot of irrelevant little side stories added that I'm still scratching my head about. Overall, I was disappointed.

On the other hand, Friday night we were able to watch

True Grit turned out to be a really great movie. I didn't have very high expectations but there was just the right amount of action to keep you entertained without being too over the top. The acting was phenomenal.

Coming in the mail tomorrow is..

I have very high hopes for this movie. The cast is wonderfully talented and it won a great deal of awards during award season.

So what's been on your DVR or queue this week?

Thanks to Netflix for the pictures!

Fabulous PhotoShoots

I apologize for being MIA lately.. I had finals for summer classes and the ongoing health issues. But on the brighter side, I had a fantastic photo shoot this past Friday with the talented Steve Maisch of Steve Maisch Photography. Our inspiration this time was the 1920s and we focuses on the flapper and Old Hollywood look. Hope you all enjoy! For more pictures or information about Steve and his photography like "Steve Maisch Photography" on Facebook or check out his website at www.stevemaisch.com

Hair was done by Tanya Maisch and makeup done by Gabbie Maisch (a talented powerhouse family!!!)

Manic Monday

As I'm getting ready for a weekend in Memphis, I decided to dedicate this weekend posts to the late, great Johnny Cash who as many know got his start in Memphis.

Johnny Cash-Ring of Fire
I love, love, love this song! And I love the scene in "Walk the Line" when June Carter Cash writes the lyrics for it. Such a moving story!

Johnny Cash-When the Man Comes Around
This song reminds me of the remake of "Dawn of the Dead" which scared the hell out of me.

Johnny Cash-Hurt
I cannot get through this song without crying. It is so haunting as he made this video mere months before he passed. Such an awesome cover to an awesome Nine Inch Nails song.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Ti Amo Thursdays

My picks for the week..
Tribal Print Halter Dress from Charlotte Russe
I adore the colors in this tribal print! The silhouette is flattering on almost everyone and for $19.99, it won't hurt the bank account!

I love the different textures and the little twist of color for these black wedges. They're still neutral and will match a variety of different things.

I've always had an appreciation for turquoise jewelry and this ring set is no exception!

Hope everyone has a lovely Father's Day Weekend!
Thanks to Charlotte Russe, GoJane and Lulu*s for the pictures!

Monday was truly manic as I spent most of the day fasting for a procedure that was scheduled for 2 PM. My procedure didn't actually happen til close to 5 PM so by the time I finally got home I was exhausted!

Anyways, I watched Love & Other Drugs on Saturday. Without the hotness that is Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hatheway I don't think I would have cared for it. The storyline is actually quite sad but their insane chemistry kept me from ejecting the disc.

A few weeks ago, my husband finally forced me to watched Meet the Parents. I'm not sure why it has taken me so long to watch it, but I love Robert DeNiro so I really enjoyed it, so this week is all about the Fockers..
Meet the Fockers comes in the mail today followed by Little Fockers. Also, we've been catching up on Season 3 of Castle.

If you haven't seen this charming little show, I HIGHLY recommend it. It is one of mine and my husband's favorites. Nathan Fillion is so darn cute as a novelist who shadows Kate Beckett, an NYPD detective, who is played by the gorgeous Stana Katic. Their love/hate relationship is infatuating and the crime stories are actually really good as well.

Fabulous Photoshoots

Instead of my usual "Ti Amo Thursdays" post, I know I promised a long time ago that I would share some of my fabulous photoshoots that I do as a hobby. This particular photoshoot took place right at the end of tax season and a day after I returned to the land of the gingers. Steve Maisch, a very talented local photographer and I were very excited about the recent release of the movie Sucker Punch
The girls in the movie were both strong and sexy and we felt this would make an excellent theme for a photoshoot. So after weeks of planning, myself and 3 other models got to make our own homage to the movie entitled "KnockOuts" It was a very long and trying day: I was very sick this day, our makeup artist had a bizarre food coloring burn accident but the location we shot at was so wonderfully creepy (an old abandoned paper factory) and I loved the results. Here is my favorite picture from the shoot:

I haven't been involved in any shoots since then, but will share a few other past ones that I think you will enjoy :)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thank you to Steve Maisch and his badass team of makeup and hair stylists and assistants that made this happen!

So, the husband and I really enjoyed last week's Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Very quirky and fun!

Last night we watched..
I think we would give it 3 out of 5 stars. It started off slow but it definitely had its funny and heartwarming moments. Christian Bale was insanely good at playing Dicky and Mark Wahlburg has definitely improved his acting skills since "Fear" ;)

Coming in the mail on Thursday is..

I've heard mixed reviews about this movie. I find that people either love it or hate it.. so hopefully we're in that first category. I definitely love Jake Gyllenhaal.. yum!!!

Thanks to Netflix for the pictures!
